    Danny Chia, a Malaysian professional golfer born on November 29, 1972 was once the leading amateur back in mid-1990s and only turned into a professional golfer in 1996. So far, he won once in Asian Tour (2002 Taiwan Open). He made Malaysia proud for he was the very first Malaysian to clinch the title/award. And in 2002, once again he made our country proud when he became the second Malaysian to participate in The Open Championship.

    Besides Asian Tour, Chia has also participated in other tournaments nationwide and bagged several awards. Among some of the tournaments are – Jakarta Raya Open 1996, WGC-World Cup 2001 and 2002, 2007 International Championship in Indonesia and 2008 Mercedes-Benz Masters in Thailand.

    Back in mid-1990s when he was still an amateur golfer, Chia won Selangor Amateur Open for three consecutive years from 1993 until 1995.
