Along the Golfing trail of Johor

Johor is the southernmost state in Malaysia. It is home to the gateway that connects Malaysia with southern neighbour Singapore. Here is where you will find many international Golf Courses which are catered to local and foreigner golfers from all over the world.

As Johor is located very near to Singapore, many Singaporeans come here to enjoy the greens and its resort facilities. This is largely due to the fact that there are more choices available and are more affordable. In Johor, you will find many resort beaches with the likes of Desaru, Teluk Ramunia as well as around other major towns like Mersing and Batu Pahat.

You will find that Johor’s Golf Courses are one of the best around the region as they are designed by some of the most renowned golfers in the world while they are also located within some very lush and rich landscape around the state.

Golf Courses in Johor Bahru

The Austin Hills Country Club is one of the major courses here located in Johor Bahru, the state capital of the state. It offers an 18 hole course and was designed by Peter Dalkeith Scott. Here is where you will also be able to play a game over the public 18 holes golf course in Daiman 18 –Johor Bahru.

In Batu Pahat, you can also enjoy your game at the Michael Coates & Associates’ designed Bukit Banang Golf and Country Club. Perhaps the most reputable and popular course in this state is at Desaru Golf and Country Resort where it is located in Kota Tinggi that offers a course designed by none other than Robert Trent Jones Jr.

Further out in Pontian not far from the city centre, you can head out to Kukup Golf Resort which is designed by Japanese Atsumi Kawase that offers a 36 hole course. Masai offers the Octville Golf and Country Club while Ronald Fream and Hirosama Inagawa are the designers of the Palm Resort Golf and Country Club in Senai. For those of you who like the richer greens surrounded by some of the most serene landscapes here, the Poresia Country Club offers a 27 hole course located in Gelang Patah.

The state of Johor is perhaps one of the fastest growing places in Malaysia in recent years. With Iskandar Malaysia building new townships and foreign universities, more tourists are coming to the state to enjoy its facilities and Golf Courses as well.
