    Ball "plugged" inside bunker

if a ball landed in a bunker and was "plugged", i.e.
we can see only a "bit" ( say only the logo ) of the ball,
are we allowed a free lift .
but we put the ball back on the b unker at the nearest spot ?

I understand that balls which land on the fairway and gets plugged
will be accorded a free lift.

appreciate the sifus out there on some knowledge as Under Rules of Golf
page 82, it is not so clearly stated.

    many thanks.

    Ball Plugged in Bunker.

You must PLAY as it lies......However , if you deem it unplayable , you may take a drop ( in the Bunker- 2 Club Length ) or as far back facing the Pin but must be in the Bunker with a penalty of one ( 1 ) stroke.
