Former world number one and most celebrated golfer Tiger Woods is scheduled to join the World Golf Championships Accenture Match Play Championship which will kick off on February 23. Woods is participating in the $8.5 million tournament which will be held in Marana in Arizona where he will be competing against 62 other top 64 world ranked players. Only 1 golfer is not in the list.
Woods, who held the number one spot for the longest duration ever is now ranked third and will be up against Thomas Bjorn of Denmark in round 1. The current number one, Briton Lee Westwood will be playing against Henrik Stenson from Sweden who he qualified through taking up the 64 ranking after the withdrawal of Toru Taniguchi of Japan. Noh Seung-Yul of South Korea will try his shots against Martin Kaymer, the German who is ranked second.
