Melaka is the historical state of Malaysia which is known for its rich traditions and heritage. It has one of the most visitors and tourists who come here for sightseeing, the great food, historical sites and leisure. Located not far from the town centre of Melaka is the A’Famosa Golf and Country Club which is known for its resort style environment and waterpark for the young.
The A’Famosa Golf and Country Club has a golf course that stretches to 6,342 meters. The 27-hole championship course was established in 1997 and is located just off the PLUS North-South Expressway. Getting here from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia takes only slightly more than an hour where there are three nine-hole loops filled with their respective obstacles and challenges.
Golf Course designed by Ross Watson
The golf course here was designed by Ross Watson, one of the top golf course architects in the world where there is the Rockies, Crocodile and Palm Nines respectively. Since its opening, the A’Farmosa Golf course has grown by reputation where it has already hosted several tournament and events like the 2011’s edition of the MalaysianAmateur Open Golf Championship, among others.
The Rockies Nine is known for its outcrops and contouring slopes while the Palm Nine has its set of trees and coconut palms that line up across the horizon. Meanwhile, the Crocodile Nine is actually the loop that has its own Crocodile home which makes up part of the challenging course which includes bunkers, water ponds and Hazards as well to ensure the game remains competitive and exciting.
