The Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open in 2014 will be one of the golf tournaments set to discover new and amateur golfers for the bigger circuits.
The 2014’s edition of the Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open will be held at the Kelab Golf PerkhidmatanAwam Malaysia in Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur between the 18th and 20th of February 2014 and will be expecting an exciting affair from more than 100 participants over the 3-days event.
Organized by the Kelab Golf PerkhidmatanAwam Malaysia and the Malaysian Golf Association, this tournament is a significant event for amateur golfers whose performance will be taken into consideration and accounted for in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. The game will be played where the winners will be decided by stoke play of 3 rounds on the 18-hole golf course throughout the full 3 days of the tournament.
This means that the Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open is a very crucial event for amateur golfers who are looking to improve their world rankings before heading out towards the more professional levels.
Open to all amateur golfers
The Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open is open to all amateur golfers are eligible for this event in which male players must adhere to the rules of Amateur status as stipulated by the R&A Rules Ltd with a maximum USGA handicap index of 10.7 at the time of application. Meanwhile, for the ladies, they must meet the requirements of the Rules of Amateur Status by the R&A Rules Ltd with a maximum Handicap Index of 16.4 at the time of application to join the event. There will be a maximum of 136 players for this prestigious event which will be accepted based on a first-come-first-served basis.
Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia is one of the most prestigious Golf Courses in Malaysia nestled within the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It has been voted as the most difficult golf course in Malaysia for 3 consecutive years which means that the amateur golfers will surely be facing a challenging and yet rewarding tournament if they are to make inroads towards their respective golfing journeys and careers.
