Angel Hii – Winning in Malaysia’s golf tournaments propelling her to do the same overseas

In late 2020, Malaysian amateur golfer Angel Hii won the KGS Club Championship in Petra Jaya, Sarawak. This would add to her string of titles since coming into the Malaysian amateur golfing scene a few years back.

An exemplary form of late

Angel, who is from Kuching has won many tournaments and the KGS Club Championship 2020 will be her fifth consecutive title. She has been winning it since 2016 and she is only 16 years old. To win this round, she took home a 3-over 75 by beating Asha Nabeela Abdul Rahman who came in second. Finishing up the top sixth were Angelie Jerembai Ong, Rebecca Sia, Noor Arfina A’in Ibrahim and Kim Mi Kyeong.

Illustrious record and promising talent

What makes Angel such a remarkable golfer is that she is committed and excels in what she does. She went to the Tunku Putra International School and will be continuing her studies at university. In 2018, she took on the green jacket when she won the 32nd Annual Champion of Champions Tournament at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf Club beating several adults to the trophy. Other tournaments that Angle has won include the:

  • 2019 Second at the Perak Amateur Open
