It has been 2 years since the last Asian Tour Qualifying School and it is now back and players can start working for their places in next year’s Asian Tour.
There have been new tournaments added to the Asian Tour tournament schedule which are highly lucrative. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was no Qualifying School in 2021 and 2022 which means that there will be no reshuffling of playing membership since the 2020 season.
This means that those who qualified then will still have their rights to play through 2022.
Lakeview Resort & Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand will host the Final Qualifying Stage where the top 35 finishers will earn their places in the Asian Tour.
5 First Stage Qualifying events will take place prior to the one in Hua Hin which is set to be played in January 18, 2023, which are:
- Oakecreek Country Club, Arizona, United States on November 15, 2022
- Blue Canyon Country Club’s Canyon Course, Phuket, Thailand on December 7, 2022
- Lakes Course, Blue Canyon, Phuket, Thailand on January 4, 2023
- Thana City Country Club, Bangkok, Thailand, January 11, 2023
- Springfield Country Club, Hua Hin, Thailand on January 11, 2023.
Players will have to wrestle for the first-come-first-served First Qualifying Stage with the top-placed finishers earning their places in the Final Stage, a 5-round competition. After 36 holes, the top and tied 140 places will go on to rounds 3 and 4 and then it will be trimmed to the top and tied 70 places after 72 holes.
After 90 holes, the top 35 players will then be ranked for 2023.
