Terengganu is one of the eastern states located Peninsular Malaysia. Here is where you will find some of the most beautiful and luxurious beaches and islands in the world. The state offers a wide array of choices for tourists who come here each day to either enjoy the seaside attractions, diving at the nearby islands, indulging in the islands or for its natural surroundings which are shared with neighboring states Pahang and Johor.
Beautiful beaches and sensational greens
The state is home to some of the most naturally rich beach sides while it is also very much popular for its cultural attractions. Terengganu is home to the beaches that bring the endangered species like the Leatherback turtles who come and lay their eggs during their respective seasons. You will find that the state is encircled with some very rich and thick rainforests and many lush Golf Courses as well.
Golfing in Terengganu
The main city here is Kuala Terengganu, which is the state capital while there is also an international golf course located in other towns like Kemaman and Dungun as well. In Kemaman, you will be able to enjoy a game at the Awana Kijal Beach and Golf Resort. This course is considered to be one of the most reputable and established Golf Courses in Malaysia. It was designed by a local named Mohd Kamel Yassin and comes with an 18 hole stretch in its 6,500-meter land size. The Ibai Golf and Country Club is located not far from the capital that comes with an 18 hole green designed by Andy Dye. You can also head out towards the very prestigious Kuala Terengganu Golf Resort located not far from here.
Over in Dungun, you will find that Kelab Golf Desa Dungun offers an 18 hole stretch. Also located not far from here is the 18-hole Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club. Over in Tasik Kenyir is the Tasik Kenyir Golf Resort that comes with a 9 hole Ross Watson designed green. One of the latest additions for golfers around here is the Rantau Petronas Country Club which is known to offer one of the biggest bunkers among all other courses in Malaysia. The green here was designed by Ronald Fream and is located in Kerteh, which is quite isolated from the major cities and towns of the state, making it an ideal place to enjoy your game.
