Marcus Lim Pang Chuen – A true Malaysian golfer starting at the age of 9

Marcus Lim Pang Chuen has been in the golfing circuit from an early and young age. He achieved success from as young as 9 when he won the SportExcel Junior Open held at the Rahman Putra Golf Club back in 2011.

Playing with and against the big boys

The Malaysian amateur golfer has since grown to become one of the leading names in this sector today.
The boy from UCSI International School recently won the 63rd Perak Men & Ladies Amateur Open 2019 held at the Meru Valley Resort. In getting there, he beat national golfer Sazanur Iman. The year before that, Marcus was in the men’s team that beat their Singaporean counterparts in the SGA vs MGA Annual Match which was held at Templer Park Country Club. The game comes around each year since 1976.

  • AmBank SportExcel International Junior Championship – Finished 5th
  • 2019 Penang Amateur Open – Finished 6th
  • 2019 Duke of York Young Champions Trophy – Finished 28th
  • 2019 Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open – Winner
  • 2019 Johor Amateur Open – Finished 5th
  • 2019 Singapore Junior Championship – Finished 6th
  • 2018 Australian Junior Open – Finished 22nd
