Lee Chong Li is an emerging young Malaysian golfer who was born in Johor and furthered his studies in the United States.

Selected to the national team

In 2015, he joined the RSGC AmBank Junior Amateur Open Golf Championship where he finished second. What makes it remarkable for this young star is that he was selected among the players on the Malaysian national team at the age of 15. Since then, he has won several events around the circuit. Lee was a graduate of the Maktab Sultan Abu Bakar in Johor and was once coached by Jean Daniels. His more recent success came in 2020 when he won the 32nd SGCC Amateur Open Championship held at Sabah Golf and Country (SGCC).

Among the tournaments he previously joined include:

  • 2019 Johor Amateur Open – Finished 16th
  • 2019 MPI Generali Saujana Amateur Championship
  • 2019 NAIA SSAC Championship – Finished 9th
  • 2019 Badger Invitational – Finished 10th
  • 2018 Battle in The Big Easy – Finished 20th
  • 2018 Penang Amateur Open – Finished 11th
  • 2018 Singapore Open Amateur Championship
  • 2018 Negeri Sembilan Amateur Open – Finished 9th
