Odyssey Golf is one of the 5 brands under Callaway, one of the major brands in the golf sport. For more than a decade now, Odyssey has been one of the most sought-after brands in the putter segment.
A major brand in the circuit
Odyssey first made its mallet putter back in 1991 and has been growing by leaps and bounds ever since. In 2021, it was the No.1 putter on Tour which it has been so for the last 10 or 11 years before that.
With the latest technologies in the market at its disposal, it is no surprise that Odyssey is one of the preferred brands among the players who have picked up significant wins and achievements in the Tour.
Coming to the limelight
Odyssey’s popularity came around back in 1996 when Sir Nick Faldo defeated Greg Norman using the Odyssey Rosie. Golf giant Callaway will then buy over Odyssey the next year, further cementing its stature as a premium golf manufacturer.
With a reputation for making top-performance golf clubs with innovative technologies, Odyssey would go on to build a stronger presence.
This was evident with their White Hot putter series which came out in 2000. They would then go on to roll out their first two-ball putter clubs which took the game by storm.
Continuing the tradition with new technologies
Later on, Odyssey would continue to record more success with players like Annika Sorenstam, Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson becoming brand ambassadors. Odyssey’s new putter designs will incorporate technologies like Stroke Lab and Triple Track, among others.
Today, Odyssey is constantly put on a higher pedestal as compared to other brands when it comes to putters. They are regularly regarded as the top brand among professional golf tours and sell very well.
Some of their best models include the Two-Ball, the Rossie and the #7, all of which have already become legendary status among the players.
The Odyssey Stroke Lab Black Ten
One of the later models to be released recently, the Odyssey Stroke Lab Black Ten putter is seen as an improvement to an iconic model. This putter has been tested and is said to be extremely stable with good alignment control.
What makes the Odyssey Stroke Black Ten so stand out is definitely its performance where you get very good forgiveness. Besides that, the club looks classy even with the larger club head that gives you that excellent sound when hitting the last ball.
